A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) as applied to the workers compensation system is a series of standardised tests used to assess a worker's functional capacities for work. They provide a valid and reliable method to determine an individual’s safe and maximal performance of specific work-related tasks, so the functional work ability of the client is determined and if needed correlated to the job demands.
